Botswana Safari

 

12 NIGHTS/13 DAYS

Livingstone (Zambia) – Chobe National ParkOkavango Delta – Makgadikgadi

 

 

Please note, the flexibility of the safari allows for alterations of your choice.

 

 

Days 1 & 2

Fly to Livingstone Zambia for two nights at an exclusive lodge on the Zambezi River. Charming facilities are stone and thatch luxury chalets with en-suite bathrooms. Activities include river cruises, game drives, fishing, paddling & an explorational visit to Victoria Falls.

 

Days 3 & 4

Road transfer and ferry crossing to Botswana. Followed by an air private charter to a remote bush camp in the extreme northern enclave of the Chobe National Park.

Facilities consist of luxury tented accommodation and lounge under canvas – a classic old school safari base. Remote setting, wild herds of elephant and walking trails set the camp apart. Game viewing by vehicle, on foot and at night

 

Days 5 & 6

Charter flight to a secluded airstrip deep in the bush for two nights in a mobile tented fly-camp. Due to the remoteness of the selected area, a mobile camp is the ideal way to explore. Facilities are pre-erected for us and include mini-meru tents with open air bucket showers and a tented lounge. Eat under the stars, shower by moonlight and enjoy a safari experience of yesteryear!

 

Days 7, 8 & 9

Charter flight across the wilderness expanses of Botswana to a classic tented safari camp in the Okavango Delta. Wonderful setting, surrounded by large herds and predators and very remote – Botswana at its best! Game viewing by vehicle only.

 

Days 10, 11 & 12

Charter flight to the superb Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and spend two nights in a luxury tented camp. Wild and remote, the pans offer a dramatic compliment to a safari, with a chance of seeing rare desert animals. A stirring place!

 

Day 13

We fly back to Maun, the safari capital of Botswana to connect with your onward travel arrangements.

Zambia Safari

 

9 NIGHTS/10 DAYS

Livingstone – Lower Zambezi – Luangwa Valley

Days 1 & 2

Fly to Livingstone Zambia for two nights at an exclusive lodge on the Zambezi River. Charming facilities are stone and thatch luxury chalets with en-suite bathrooms. Activities include river cruises, game drives, fishing, paddling & an explorational visit to Victoria Falls.

 

Days 3 & 4

Fly to a charming river camp in the Lower Zambezi National Park. This is where the pulse of the Zambezi is felt as we explore the river by boat or canoe and the reserve by vehicle. The camp is wonderfully located, and offers luxury accommodation with a safari flair!

 

Days 4 & 5

Fly north to the South Luangwa National Park exploring the world famous reserve on foot or by vehicle. Our base here is a wonderful old-school safari camp with understated luxury.

 

Days 6, 7 & 8

Drive to a remote safari base in the North Luangwa – wild, untamed and elegent! Camp facilities are unreal with designs and layouts you won’t believe. Wilderness experiences are superb. We have an option to sleep out under the stars at a luxury trails camp if you choose.

 

Day 8

Charter flight to Lusaka Airport to connect with your onward travel arrangements.

South Africa Safari

 

4 NIGHTS/5 DAYS

Private Game Lodges

 

 

Alan McSmith Safaris has negotiated the use of a group of privately operated, exclusive destinations within the Great Kruger.

 

From these bases we can explore the vast tract of bush at your own pace, with all drives or walks entirely private. You can set your own routines or linger as long or short as you like, either by open 4x4 or on foot. Excellent game viewing.

 

Alan has been operating in the region since 1988, and his experience here is unrivalled. The camps offer great value, and are ideal for small parties searching for significant wilderness and wildlife adventure.

 

From here, we can arrange a variety of add-ons to Kruger, Mpumalanga or beyond.
